From as far back as I can remember, two questions seemed to circulate constantly inside my head: “What do people do with their pain?” and “What do I do with what I see?” The link between the body and mind began with my ballet training that I practiced for ten years starting around eight years old. Even before beginning ballet, I was always watching how people moved and how their movements reflected their personalities.
It is my joy and my honor to be of help on your healing journey. My ability to illuminate what is needed for you to heal as a Craniosacral Therapist is a culmination of experiences.
The drive to be of help lead me to pursue a Masters in Teaching and additional training through the National Institute for Learning Development. I used this training to teach both in the classroom as well as provide educational therapy for students on an individual basis. After teaching for a number of years, I knew I needed to explore healing at a deeper level, and obtained a license in massage therapy, and a certification from the Upledger Institute for Craniosacral Therapy. I am currently enrolled in the Master of Arts Counseling Psychology program at Bastyr University.
Since 2003, I have been developing my own approach to craniosacral therapy called Integrative Craniosacral Therapy (ICST) which blends the experiences from above with other expressive disciplines such as storytelling and improv comedy. I closely follow the work of Peter Levine, Resmaa Menakem, Bessel van der Kolk and Pema Chodron. I am based in Seattle and work globally. My book Compassionate Seeing: Approachable Techniques and Stories for Integrated Craniosacral Therapy is now available. Two of my interviews about the benefits of Craniosacral Therapy for babies and children with special needs are included in the Parent Map magazine articles below:
